Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients (4 persons):

  • 600 ml of fresh cream
  • 16-18 fresh or dried dates
  • 4 tablespoons of raw cocoa powder


  • whip the cream to soft peaks
  • chop the dates into small cubes or use your food processor
  • add the chopped dates and the cocoa powder to the whipped cream
  • let it sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour
  • present the mousse in small portions, eventually using a piping bag to make nice, portion-sized shapes

Healthy food alternatives:

  • use coconut cream instead of normal cream
  • replace a part of the cream with whipped egg white
  • replace half of the cream with two pureed bananas
  • use instant espresso powder instead of cocoa powder
  • use raisins of honey instead of dates
  • add some spice to your chocolate mousse by adding some grounded cinnamon, anise or cardamom
